First Ever Tr3s Latino Artist of the Year Award Goes To Aventura at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards

Los Angeles, CA September 13th, 2010 –Tr3s: MTV, Música y Más (formerly MTV Tr3s) is proud to announce that Aventura was awarded the first ever Tr3s Latino Artist of the Year Award at last night’s 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

Formed in 1994, this band from the Bronx has come a long way to bring their Dominican roots and love for Bachata music to the mainstream, fusing it with hip-hop and R&B. The band’s appeal is widespread, having achieved tremendous success both in the U.S. and abroad, with a fan base that spans the world.

Aventura’s lead singer and featured composer, Romeo, was also on hand at Sunday night’s festivities to present the Best New Artist award to Justin Bieber. The awards show will be broadcast on Tr3s on September 18 at 5pm ET so tune in to relive the action and watch Aventura’s acceptance speech for this highly-coveted award.
